Paul Weller to play instore performance on Record Store Day

Paul Weller will be playing an instore gig in London for Record Store Day, he announced today.

The Modfather will be performing live at Rough Trade East on Saturday, April 20 at 8pm. Over 200 stores across the UK are taking part in in the annual celebrations which also see special vinyl releases and rare tracks made available to the music fans.

Teen rockers Pete O’Hanlon and Josh McClorey from Irish newcomers The Strypes will accompany Weller on bass and guitar respectively, while Jay Sharrock from Miles Kane’s band will play drums. The NME reports that only 250 wristbands will be available for the gig made available through Rough Trade East in London from 8am on Tuesday, April 16.

Weller fans will also be treated to two new tracks by the Brit rocker for Record Store Day. ‘Flame – Out!‘ and ‘The Olde Original‘ will be released as a double A-side single. Listen to the preview of the tracks below.
