Jack White planning Third Man Records festival

Jack White has said a one or two-day festival could be next on the agenda for his brilliantly innovative Third Man Records venture.

White has led the way in adapting the traditional record label to the modern world by launching countless ingenious and unusual releases during the past few years.

And in an interview with Rolling Stone, he has revealed a more straightforward festival setting is the next plan in his sights as he looks to show off the very best of Third Man over a one or two-day period.

“We would love to,” he said when asked about the possibility of a Third Man festival. “We would love to do a travelling show sometime soon. It would be nice if everybody has some affiliation with us in some way, and see if we can all put it on the road together. It would be very nice.”

“We’ve been talking about it for a long time now. It’s a no-brainer for us to put something together that we could do in Nashville, like a day or a couple-day event, but it would be nice to actually take it on the road.”

The Third Man Rolling Record Store van will be in Texas later this month for the South By Southwest festival, when a special, limited edition 7″  pressed on to old medical X-rays is to be up for grabs.
