Blur will return to Ireland for the first time in four years when they perform a one-off concert in Dublin on August 1st.
The gig takes place at the city’s Irish Museum of Modern Art, and adds to what is becoming a busy period of touring for the band with festival commitments throughout Europe, Asia and North America all on the horizon.
Those stops include Primavera Sound in Spain, Rock Werchter in Belgium, the Coachella Festival and Mexico’s Vive Latino on March 16th.
To date, there are no UK shows in the works this year, though Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon have agreed to perform for the Teenage Cancer Trust later this month in London.
An intriguing onstage collaboration with their former Britpop rival Noel Gallagher – who has curated the benefit concerts this year – is widely expected to happen when the trio all play the Royal Albert Hall on March 23rd.
