Jake Bugg has covered the classic Oasis album track ‘Slide Away‘ during a BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge session, check it out below via YouTube.
Bugg gives the ‘Definitely Maybe‘ favourite his now familiar stripped down acoustic treatment, and told host Sara Cox he hoped, ‘The song might sound alright but it could all go wrong’, after also performing his new single ‘Seen It All‘ for the programme.
The Nottingham-based songwriter has enjoyed some significant support from former Oasis man Noel Gallagher during the past few months, who invited him on a tour of the US along with Snow Patrol last year.
Bugg’s self-titled debut solo album continues to sell strongly in the UK, and has done enough to land him a Brit Award nomination in the British Breakthrough category, where he will compete with Jessie Ware, Alt-J, Ben Howard and Rita Ora for the prize when this year’s ceremony takes place at the O2 in London on February 20th.
