The Flaming Lips confirmed for Warner Music showcase at SXSW

The Flaming Lips, Alt-J and Frightened Rabbit are some of the bands who have agreed to play a part in the Warner Music showcases during next month’s South By Southwest festival.

“We are ecstatic to be back at SXSW for year two of The Warner Sound,” Camille Hackney of Atlantic Records has said. “All of the Warner Music Group labels have teamed up to deliver a diverse and power-packed line-up of artists in Austin. The festival allows us an amazing opportunity to play host to and showcase WMG’s incredible artists.”

The Flaming Lips will be in Austin to perform an evening showcase on Thursday, March 14th when Alt-J, The Joy Formidable, Frightened Rabbit, Atlas Genius, Surfer Blood and Guards are also set for performances.

Amongst the other Warner events at SXSW will be a daytime showcase on the Wednesday, with Fitz & the Tantrums, Bonaparte, Saints of Valory and Ashley Monroe due to perform.

Meanwhile, the regular British Music Embassy Showcases have also confirmed their line-ups for 2013, with the following bands booked for Latitude 30:

March 11th: Psycatron, Girls Names, Sea Pinks, Lost Brothers

March 12th: Bastille, Willy Moon, The 1975, Tall Ships, Lucy Rose, Y Niwl (BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens & UK Trade & Investment)

March 13th: The View, Kassidy, Camera Obscura, PAWS, Holy Esque, Tango in the Attic (Creative Scotland & PPL: Showcasing Scotland)

March 14th: Flume (AU), No Ceremony///, Vinyl Williams, Marika Hackman, WALL (Rockfeedback/Transgressive & AIM)

March 15th: Blitz Kids, Jamie-N-Commons, The Crookes, China Rats, The Ruen Brothers, Luke Sital-Singh (Kilimanjaro & PRS For Music)

March 16th: The Orwells, Swim Deep, Peace, Eagulls, RDGLDGRN (NME & The BPI)
