Gallows have announced the departure of their guitarist Steph Carter, who is now pursuing life with a new band.

The brother of former Gallows frontman Frank, who himself left in 2011, Steph Carter responded to the news on Twitter with a link to his new outfit The Ghost Riders. “Yes, it is true,” the Tweet read. “I have left Gallows. Thank you for the kind words. Onwards and upwards.”

The Twitter message arrived shortly after Gallows had revealed the news on their Facebook page with a post that explained:

“Steph has left Gallows and we wish him the best of luck with his future projects. We will be moving on as a four piece like the early days. First stop Australia.”

Gallows recruited former Alexisonfire guitarist Wade MacNeil up front in the wake of Frank Carter’s departure, and released their self-titled third album in September last year to a warm response from critics.
