Richard Hawley to skip Brits, ‘has as much chance of seeing the Queen’s tits as winning’

Richard Hawley has declined an invite to this week’s Brit Awards ceremony in London as he has a gig the same night, and believes he has ‘as much chance of seeing the Queen’s tits’ as he does winning an award.

“The nomination is a nod to the fact I’m still around and I’m very grateful for that,” he has told The Sun. “But I won’t win. They’re not going to give it to some 46-year-old bloke, are they? I reckon I’ve got as much chance of winning as I have of seeing the Queen’s tits.”

The Sheffield musician is nominated for British Male Solo Artist this year, but won’t be in town to see if his prediction is proved correct and he loses out to one of Calvin Harris, Plan B, Ben Howard or Olly Murs.

“They’ve asked me to go but I will not move a show if I don’t absolutely have to,” he continues. “It’s a thing I’ve always been strict on. When I broke my leg last year I was on stage the same night, in a wheelchair. So I won’t be moving a gig to go to the Brits.”
