Radiohead hope to record new album in the summer

Radiohead are planning on meeting up later this year to begin work on a new album, according to bass player Colin Greenwood.

The band released their eighth studio record ‘The King Of Limbs‘ in February 2011, and eventually began a world tour on its behalf around a year later. The tour was hit with tragedy in June 2012 when Scott Johnson – a member of Radiohead’s road crew – was killed in a stage collapse in Toronto.

“We’re taking some time out whilst people are doing some other stuff, doing their own things, and the plan is to get back together again at the end of the summer,” Greenwood told BBC 6Music.

Thom Yorke‘s Atoms For Peace is one of those side projects currently being pursued; the collective, which also consists of Red Hot Chili Peppers bass player Flea, percussionist Mauro Refosco and Yorke’s long-term Radiohead collaborator Nigel Godrich, release their first record ‘Amok‘ on February 25th.
