Noel Gallagher has admitted this week’s Brit Awards ceremony left him feeling ‘very old’ and wondering ‘where all the rock bands have gone’.

The 2013 Brits saw the British Album prize predictably taken home by Emeli Sande thanks to her big selling debut ‘Our Version Of Events‘, while Mumford & Sons won the British Group award. Of particular bemusement to Gallagher, though, was the winner of the British Breakthrough gong.

“I mean, who the fuck is Ben Howard? I suddenly felt very old tonight,” he is quoted as telling the Mirror newspaper. “I’d never heard of anybody. I’m sure he’s brilliant but where are all the rock bands?”

Later, Gallagher spoke of his desire to collaborate with his new bestest buddy Damon Albarn, whom he shared a table with at the O2 on Wednesday.

“I shared a table with Damon,” he continues. “I could see us collaborating in the future, why not? Maybe at next year’s Brits.”

It is also expected that Noel Gallagher and Damon Albarn, along with Graham Coxon, will share a stage at some point during the Teenage Cancer Trust series of concerts next month.
