Green Day have revealed their first live outing since frontman Billie Joe Armstrong entered rehab last year will arrive at March’s South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas.

The performance has been arranged to coincide with the world premiere of their film Broadway Idiot at the event on March 15th, with the gig arriving later that evening at ACL Live. SXSW will also be treated to an airing of the documentary ¡Cuatro!, which takes place at the city’s Paramount Theatre.

Billie Joe Armstrong sought treatment for drug addiction not long after his now infamous onstage rant at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas last September.

“Billie Joe is seeking treatment for substance abuse,” a statement said at the time. “We would like everyone to know that our set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to apologize to those we offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas.  We regretfully must postpone some of our upcoming promotional appearances.”

A lengthy run of headline arena dates for Green Day also begin in March, with the first arriving at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont on the 28th.
