David Bowie‘s 1973 album ‘Aladdin Sane‘ is to be remastered and re-released this year to mark its 40th anniversary.

The final act of Bowie’s hedonistic Ziggy Stardust phase, ‘Aladdin Sane’ handed the legendary star his first number one album in the UK after being primarily written while on tour in the US following the release of its predecessor ‘The Rise and Fall Of Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars‘ just under a year earlier.

Soon after ‘Aladdin Sane’s release, and after a typically flamboyant and ambitious live tour, Bowie famously retired his Ziggy persona onstage at London’s Hammersmith Odeon in July 1973.

The album will be re-released on April 15th after under going a remastering process by Ray Staff at London’s AIR Studios.
