It’s looking more likely that Dave Grohl will bring his Sound City Players to South By Southwest in Texas next month after John Fogerty – who has already joined the collective onstage at the Sundance film festival – confirmed he will be performing live at the event.

Dave Grohl’s Sound City Players were formed to help promote his new documentary on the world famous studio, and has featured a rolling cast of iconic musicians who have recorded at the venue in the past.

And with Grohl due to deliver SXSW’s keynote speech in March, and hinting at a performance during recent interviews, John Fogerty has now added weight to the rumours by announcing his own appearance in Austin during a press statement released to promote his new album.

“John Fogerty will tour in 2013 and look for him to be at this year’s SXSW in Austin (dates/events TBA),” the line reads.

Dave Grohl has also indicated the Sound City Players will play one-off shows in London and Sydney this year.
