The Strokes will release a new album some time this year and are likely to precede the LP with the single ‘All The Time‘, reports Billboard.

Billboard has disclosed the news shortly after a Seattle-based radio station claimed to be in receipt of the aforementioned single, writing on Facebook that they will ‘have to leak this soon’ and that their listeners ‘won’t be disappointed’.

In the end, it took The Strokes over five years to follow-up their third studio effort ‘First Impressions Of Earth‘ when ‘Angles‘ finally arrived in March 2011. The recording sessions for that record had been hit with a series of delays and problems within the band, something they were immediately keen to put right last year by starting brand new sessions as soon as possible.

Those visits to the studio were confirmed by Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr‘s father last summer, despite conflicting reports at the time, when he revealed:

“Albert says that the stuff they’re doing is incredible. They’re doing it themselves with their friend, engineer and producer. He just says, ‘Dad, it’s incredible’.”
