Dave Grohl was intermittently joined onstage by no less than seventeen music stars at the Sundance Film Festival as his Sound City Players ensemble made their live debut.

Grohl has brought the group together in support of his new Sound City Studios documentary, which received its premiere on January 19th in Utah.

All those involved in the Sound City Players have recorded at the famous studios in the past. Grohl was accompanied by his Foo Fighters bandmates throughout the three-hour show, while his former Nirvana cohort Krist Novoselic, Slipknot‘s Corey Taylor, Fleetwood Mac icon Stevie Nicks, Creedence Clearwater Revival‘s John Fogerty and Rage Against the Machine drummer Brad Wilk were just some of the stars who made an appearance during the gig.

The documentary’s soundtrack also features an original composition by Grohl, Novoselic and Sir Paul McCartney. ‘Cut Me Some Slack‘ was given its live debut at the 12.12.12 benefit concert in New York, shortly before a studio version was unveiled.
