The Shane Meadows-directed documentary film which follows The Stone Roses on their comeback trail will include never-before-seen clips of the band, according to its producer Mark Herbert.

“There’s plenty of stuff that people haven’t seen before – both past and present,” he has told NME.

“Obviously there’s live footage from the reunion gigs, but we’ve also got some never-seen-before archive footage.”

Herbert revealed Shane Meadows is still in the process of editing over 350 hours of footage which was collected from the time The Stone Roses announced their return in October 2011 to the culmination of a well received European comeback tour in August last year.

“I’m not allowed to say very much, but what I can say is that it feels like a Shane Meadows film as well as a music documentary,” he continued. “Imagine the amazing music of the Roses combined with all the qualities that Shane’s films are known for.”

Herbert has also confirmed the film’s producers are aiming for a release midway through 2013.
