Pulp‘s newest composition ‘After You‘ will be given a full release on iTunes later this month having previously made it available only to those who attended their homecoming gig in Sheffield last month.

Fans at the concert on December 8th were greeted with a message that read:

“We got you a little present but you can’t open it til Xmas day, OK? If you enter this code into a computer anytime after midnight on Xmas Eve you will get a nice surprise – but no peeking before then! That would be naughty.”

The track was originally demoed during sessions for Pulp’s 2001 LP ‘We Love Life‘, though it was an extended, James Murphy produced version which fans gobbled up over Christmas. It will now be downloadable through iTunes from January 28th.

Despite the ‘new’ material following a period of reunion touring for Pulp, it is unlikely to herald a full studio album after frontman Jarvis Cocker all but ruled out the possibility late last year during an interview with Q, when he said the band had found it, ‘A big enough challenge to learn how to play all the old songs’.
