Omar Rodriguez-Lopez’s Bosnian Rainbows unveil first track ‘Torn Maps’

omarsqOmar Rodriguez-Lopez – producer, occasional member of The Mars Volta and At The Drive-In, writer, actor and just about everything else in between – has unveiled the first track from his latest project Bosnian Rainbows. ‘Torn Maps‘ can be sampled thanks to Soundcloud below.

Rodriguez-Lopez is joined on the Bosnian Rainbows register by drummer Deantoni Parks, keyboardist Nicci Kasper and Les Butcherettes‘ singer Teri Gender-Bender. He has told NME their debut LP was recorded in Germany last year and will be released before 2013 is out.

“We recorded the record over in Europe, we did a tour across Europe and we recorded the album in Hamburg, Germany,” he explains. “It’s been done for a while and we’ve decided to put it out this year. We’re really happy with it.”

“I’ve collaborated with all three of these artists before. I worked with Teri from Les Butcherettes on a solo record of mine, maybe a year or two ago. I also worked with her on the second Butcherettes record, I realised just how wonderful a musician she is.”
