My Bloody Valentine debuted new material upon their live return last night (January 27th), when singer Kevin Shields also reportedly told the crowd their long awaited new album will be out ‘in two or three days’.

The gig at London’s Electric Brixton acted as a warm-up for the band’s upcoming shows in Japan and Australia, which will be followed by a UK tour commencing in Birmingham on March 8th. Fan footage of the new song has been floating around online but is unavailable at the time of writing.

Kevin Shields’ comments on the release date will at least offer fans hope that the album is set to arrive sooner rather than later, after Debbie Googe recently told Drowned In Sound work is finally finished on their first studio effort since 1991′s influential ‘Loveless‘.

“It will definitely come out as it’s pretty much finished,” she said. “I mean, it’s impossible to talk about time with Kevin, but in terms of percentage-wise, he’s got one more track he wants to do then that’s it. Everything else is recorded.”
