David Bowie enters Top 10 on UK Singles Chart

David Bowie has achieved his highest placing on the UK charts since his single ‘Absolute Beginners‘ troubled the Top 10 back in 1986.

The new track ‘Where Are We Now?‘, a surprise release this time last week on Bowie’s 66th birthday, has entered at no.6 after the Official Charts Company was able to isolate individual sales of the single from free downloads offered as part of a promotion to those who pre-order the comeback album ‘The Next Day‘, despite originally claiming the campaign would make the song ineligible for the charts.

Meanwhile, over on the UK Album Chart, Emeli Sande is at number one once again with ‘Our Version Of Events‘, while Jake Bugg‘s eponymous debut has climbed one place to #3.
