Adele, Mumford & Sons among US’ biggest selling albums of 2012

Adele comfortably had the biggest selling album of 2012 in the US, new Billboard figures show.

The singer’s second album ‘21‘ shifted 4.41m copies during the course of last year having already enjoyed a bumper 2011 – well over one million more than her nearest rival, Taylor Swift‘s ‘Red‘.

Mumford & Sons‘ ‘Babel‘ also proved to be a popular record Stateside, shifting 1.46 million copies following its release in September.

Earlier this week, Jack White‘s debut solo album ‘Blunderbuss‘ was revealed to have been the top selling record on vinyl in the US last year, with an impressive 33,000 copies sold.
