Video: Paul Weller, Bradley Wiggins 6Music special previewed

A short preview of the BBC 6Music Christmas special presented by Tour De France and Olympic champion Bradley Wiggins and his music hero Paul Weller has been released and can be viewed below.

The pair recorded the one-off programme a couple of months ago, which will be aired in full on Boxing Day. During the show, Wiggins and Weller chat about the former’s incredible sporting achievements this year, as well as his now-well-known love for music and mod culture. Reflecting on a visit to an Ocean Colour Scene gig, Wiggins explains how the experience made him feel like he was, ‘part of something – part of a group’.

Wiggins also dismisses suggestions he could find himself included in the New Year’s Honours list, saying fellow Olympians Ben Ainslie and Mo Farah are more deserving of the recognition. “Apparently they’re only allowed to give two out a year,” he remarks. “I’m probably last on the list.”

Bradley Wiggins was presented with the BBC’s annual Sports Personality Of The Year award earlier this week, when he again hit the headlines after covering Oasis and The Jam with the house band at the ceremony’s after-show party.
