The Black Keys, Arcade Fire and Mumford & Sons are among the artists shortlisted in the Best Original Song category for next year’s Oscars.

The Black Keys receive a nod for ‘Baddest Man Alive‘ which was offered to the kung-fu movie The Man With The Iron Fists, while Mumford & Sons could add yet another prestigious award to their ever-growing trophy cabinet after ‘Learn Me Right‘ picked up a nomination following its inclusion in the Disney Pixar animation Brave.

Adele is also up for the Academy Award thanks to her high profile Jame Bond theme tune ‘Skyfall‘, while Arcade Fire are included due to their track ‘Abraham’s Daughter‘, taken from The Hunger Games.

In all, 75 songs have made the initial longlist for the 85th Academy Awards, with Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Fiona Apple also among those included, while four tracks which feature on Quentin Tarantino’s soon-to-be-released Django Unchained receive a mention.

On January 10th, the final list will be unveiled at a special ceremony before the overall winner is confirmed at the official Oscars awards night on February 24th.
