Iggy Pop, Keith Richards, Tom Waits and Shane MacGowan are among the artists who have contributed to a new ‘pirate themed’ compilation album which has been put together by Hollywood star and occasional rock dabbler Johnny Depp.
The 36-track double album, entitled ‘Son of Rogue’s Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs and Chanteys‘ will be released on February 18th next year, with highlights including Tom Waits and Keith Richards’ collaboration on ‘Shenandoah‘, and Iggy Pop’s take on ‘Asshole Rules the Navy‘, where he is joined by A Hawk and a Hacksaw.
As well as curating, Johnny Depp has also played a part on the collection, and appears on both ‘Leaving of Liverpool‘ and ‘The Mermaid‘.
