And So I Watch You From Afar will release a new album early next year.

The follow-up to the stomping 2011 effort ‘Gangs‘, entitled ‘All Hail Bright Futures‘, is due for release on March 18th 2013 through the influential Sargent House label.

The LP is set to be the band’s first since the surprise departure of guitarist Tony Wright, the details of which were discussed when we sat down with ASIWYFA at the SXSW festival earlier this year.

“He’s always been a singer/songwriter, and about 18 months ago he started taking that more seriously and was starting to gig a bit, and it just got to the point where we had a big tour coming up and it got to that tipping point where it was his involvement with the band and his own thing got to the point where it was make or break – one or the other,” they told us.

“There was an element of frustration as well; like we’re always going to love him, but if something makes you unhappy that you’re supposed to love doing and you stop loving it, it’s time to move on.”

The 12-track album was laid down in Belfast’s Start Together Studio with producer Rocky O’Reilly. A first taster, ‘Like A Mouse‘, is streaming now via Soundcloud:
