Video: Tame Impala perform Modular session

Tame Impala recently performed a mini-session for the Modular label at their regular rehearsal room The Norfolk, which can be enjoyed via YouTube below.

The Kevin Parker-led collective sauntered through a selection of tracks from their second record ‘Lonerism‘, including  ‘Apocalypse Dreams‘ and a ridiculously tight version of ‘Elephant‘ – surely one of the tracks of the year from one of the albums of the year.

Described as having a ‘more mellow nature’ than its 2010 predecessor ‘Innerspeaker‘ in Live4ever’s review, which can be read in full here, the article continued:

“Whilst it’s far from ambient, in comparison to the debut’s relentless sonic assault, the album explores and embraces more extreme dynamics, appreciates spaces and gaps just as much as it is fond of layer upon layer of sound,” the review continues. “There even appears to be a gentle, simple and straightforward love (or more likely a love lost) pop song present in ‘Feels Like We Only Go Backwards’.”
