The Maccabees will start work on a new album early next year, according to bandmates Felix White and Orlando Weeks.

“We’re touring right up until the end of the year and then we’re just gonna write another record,” the pair told XFM. “We’ve got a studio in London.”

The London group’s touring duties behind their Mercury-nominated 2012 LP ‘Given To The Wild‘ will continue on November 23rd at the London St-John-at-Hackney Church.

In addition, next month the band will begin a stint supporting The Black Keys throughout Europe, during which time they will close a hugely successful year with two gigs at London’s O2 Arena on December 12th and 13th.

With those commitments completed, White and Weeks revealed they then want to ‘calm down’ their touring plans and focus on writing new material.

“We’re gonna try and calm things down touring-wise and we’re gonna try and get a record done by the end of next year,” they continued.
