Green Day announce ‘¡Quatro!’ documentary

greendaywideGreen Day will tell the story of their trilogy series of albums with a new documentary release next year.

Entitled ¡Quatro!, the behind-the-scenes documentary focuses on the creation of their 2012 records ‘¡Uno!‘, ‘¡Dos!‘ and ‘¡Tré!‘, while also containing live footage from a selection of live US gigs.

The film has been directed by Tim Lynch, and is to receive a full release in 2013 after having highlights premiered on VH1 in the States next Wednesday (November 28th).

“‘¡Quatro!’ brings our fans one step closer by giving them even more access and revealing what it was like for us to make these records,” Green Day bass player Mike Dirnt has told the press.

The album trilogy began in September with the release of ‘¡Uno!’. ‘¡Dos!’ followed earlier this month, while ‘¡Tre!’ is due to complete the series on December 10th.

The ambitious touring planned by the band in support of the records has been curtailed for the remainder of this year after frontman Bille Joe Armstrong‘s visit to rehab.
