Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has said the band ‘don’t give a fuck’ if their live performances aren’t considered ‘cool’.
Speaking on the upcoming DVD Live 2012, Martin insists the collective enjoyment of the thousands of people who turn up to their live shows is the only thing that matters to the group.
“When the lights go down, that’s 30,000 people’s lives colliding,” he remarks. “For that one moment, everyone there working is working for that moment, everyone watching is watching for that moment.”
“I start getting real adrenalin and start doing Rocky shadow boxing and all that. I get as excited as anyone else and I still get that excitement when I go see anyone else’s concert – I love that moment.”
“Whilst it might not be perceived as cool to be really enthused by the fact that people show up to hear your music – we don’t give a fuck, we really love that.”
Live 2012 tells the story of Coldplay’s ongoing Mylo Xyloto world tour, and will be released on November 19th.
