Villagers have unveiled details of a headline UK tour for February 2013 with ‘{Awayland}‘ – the follow-up to the Mercury nominated and Ivor Novello winning debut album ‘Becoming a Jackal‘ – due for release a month earlier.

The tour will be launched at Warehouse 34 in Newcastle on February 9th, with gigs in Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Brighton also booked before the tour ends on February 18th at the Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth.

‘{Awayland}’ will hit the shelves on January 14th, 2013, and has been preceded by the first single ‘The Waves‘ today (October 22nd).

“I was looking up at the sky on a particularly clear night and it struck me that I had never written a song about those little moments when you feel a fundamental and awesome sense of wonder and a simultaneously humbling recognition of absolute insignificance,” principal member Conor O’Brien has said of the single.
