The Walkmen have uploaded two new tracks online as they prepare to embark on a tour of the UK later this month.
The songs ‘Dance With Your Partner‘ and ‘Vermeer 65‘ were recorded with producer Phil Eck during the sessions for their 2012 album ‘Heaven‘, and are available to stream via Soundcloud below.
Released in May this year, ‘Heaven’ was subsequently included in Live4ever’s Essential Albums Of 2012…So Far rundown, after being described in our review as having its strongest moments when “…they slow it down a gear, cut back on the exuberance and fizz of angular, distorted guitars and take up the vintage warmth of acoustics.”
The Walkmen’s UK tour begins on October 27th at the Birmingham Institute, with a stop at the Glasgow ABC immediately following. An Irish date at Dublin’s Vicar Street is sandwiched between the UK trip on October 29th. Gigs in Manchester and London then close the tour on October 30th and November 1st.
