Johnny Marr will join Dinosaur JR. onstage later this year for a one-off gig in New York.

Marr is set to be the special guest of Dinosaur Jr. on December 1st at New York’s Terminal 5 venue, with two other as-yet-unconfirmed musicians also ready to help the band celebrate the 25th anniversary of their influential ‘You’re Living All Over Me‘ album, which will played in its entirety during the concert.

Dinosaur Jr. join an ever growing list of groups to enlist the considerable talents of Johnny Marr, after Modest Mouse and The Cribs counted him as a valued member during recent years. In addition, he also joined Bryan Ferry at GuilFest last July for the former Roxy Music man’s headline appearance at the festival.

One band who Marr is unlikely to be playing with at any stage in the future however is The Smiths; the guitarist and songwriter was quick to dismiss the latest round of reunion rumours which surfaced earlier this month with a statement released to NME by his manager Joe Moss which read:

“It isn’t happening. We are fully focused on preparing Johnny’s new album for release and booking shows for 2013.”
