‘Lysandre‘ will be issued through Turnstile on January 14th 2013, and is said to take its title from a girl Owens met whilst on tour in France with the band he abruptly left last summer.
It has been written, recorded and sequenced to take listeners on an unbroken narrative, and has been inspired by the events of Girls’ first ever tour in the summer of 2008.
According to Owens the record is a, “coming of age story, a road trip story, a love story. ‘Lysandre’ could easily be mistaken as an album about a love affair. But it’s much more than that.”
