Blur have confirmed their headline appearance at the 2013 Rock Werchter festival in Belgium, and have also hinted at more live commitments for next year.

Writing on their official website, the band spoke of their delight at being booked for Rock Werchter, and suggested additional live dates could be unveiled in due course.

“Rock Werchter announce that Blur will headline next July,” the short message reads. “We’re excited…hope to travel in 2013 to play to more of our lovely fans who we haven’t seen for a while. Don’t know where yet, we’ll tell as soon as we do.”

Blur’s future has remained unclear throughout this year; despite a spate of live performances and the release of a brand new double A-side single, the four bandmates have steadfastly refused to commit to more concrete plans, with guitarist Graham Coxon most recently telling Shortlist that:

“I don’t think we like having things pencilled in too much or feeling pressured into anything. That’s our relationship now. We record when we want to see each other and try something. There’s no point in forcing it if it doesn’t feel good.”
