The xx preview ‘Coexist’ in full online

The xx are streaming their new album in full over at NPR.org ahead of the LP’s release on Monday (September 10th).

Coexist‘ is just one of a number of high profile album releases due for this month, and is the follow-up to the London’s band’s Mercury Prize-winning 2009 self-titled debut album.

Speaking to NME back in June, The xx’s Romy Madely-Croft outlined the band’s aim to quickly move away from that critically lauded first effort, with ‘Coexist’ looking to showcase an evolution in sound for the group.

“I’ve been thinking that I hope people enjoy it as a separate thing,” Madely-Croft said. “The first album exists – we’re not trying to make it again. We’ve just grown up, and although this isn’t a ‘grown up’ album, we’ve evolved. It’s just us growing a bit more. I hope people enjoy it as a continuation, rather than us trying to make the first album again.”
