After topping the UK’s main album chart yesterday ahead of Bob Dylan, The xx have also pipped the veteran songwriter to the number one spot on the Record Store Chart this week with their second LP ‘Coexist‘.

The chart, which is compiled entirely from sales registered at Britain’s independent record stores, has Gallows‘ new self-titled album in the Top 10 (#5), one place ahead of last week’s chart-topper ‘The Vaccines Come Of Age‘.

Elsewhere, 2012 Mercury favourites Alt-J remain at #15 with ‘An Awesome Wave‘, and Elbow‘s b-sides collection ‘Dead In The Boot‘ holds on to a Top 20 place.
