The Killers have praised their UK-based fans for laying the early foundations of their success back in 2004.

Quoted in today’s Daily Star tabloid, the Las Vegas band’s drummer Ronnie Vannucci has said they ‘wouldn’t be here’ if it wasn’t for the almost instant impact made in Britain around the time of the release of their debut album ‘Hot Fuss‘.

“If it wasn’t for the UK, we really wouldn’t be here,” Vannucci remarks. “They were the first ones to take us in, and be like, ‘Hey, you’re all right, play here tonight’. You’ve got to burn to shine and we burn hardest here for them.”

And with the group’s fourth album ‘Battle Born‘ released this week, Vannucci has also admitted to experiencing some nerves as they let their latest studio record out into the wider world.

“You’re anxious to see what people think of your latest effort,” he continues. “There’s a certain amount of helplessness that we feel. You shoot the rocket up and you don’t know where it’s going to land.”
