The Killers will bring 2012 to a close with two hometown gigs in Las Vegas.

The band are to perform the twin shows at the Cosmopolitan Resort and Casino on December 28th and December 29th – their first appearances in Vegas for three years. Tickets will go onsale from September 21st, with prices starting at $86. In addition, the venue will also host the Red Hot Chili Peppers on New Year’s Eve.

2012 has seen The Killers emerge from a lengthy hiatus which began following the completion of promotional duties for their 2008 album ‘Day & Age‘, during which time both frontman Brandon Flowers and drummer Ronnie Vannucci launched their own solo projects.

The four-piece release their new album ‘Battle Born‘ this week, and are due to embark on a tour of UK arenas next month, beginning at the Glasgow SECC on October 26th. The lengthy trek will end with back-to-back shows at London’s O2 Arena on November 16th and 17th.
