Ronnie Wood to auction off Rolling Stones memorabilia

ronniewoodRonnie Wood and his ex-wife Jo are expected to raise between $300,000-$500,000 (£185,000-£310,000) when their Rolling Stones memorabilia is auctioned off in the US next month.

According to Reuters,  the collection will include items amassed from each of Wood’s four decades with the Stones, taking in tour clothing, backstage passes, custom-painted Fender Stratocasters and his own artwork.

Antiques, furniture and items from the former couple’s private collection of art will also be up for sale. The auction is set to take place at Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills on October 27th, with auctioneer Darren Julien expecting the day to go ‘very well’. Julien has also explained Ronnie and Jo have simply ‘decided it was time to simplify and sell some of their property’, and insisted they remain ‘very good friends’.

A portion of the money raised from the auction, which comes at a time when the history of The Rolling Stones is more relevant than ever as the band celebrates its 50th anniversary, will be donated to MusiCares – a Grammys charity which offers support and care to those in the music industry.
