Mumford & Sons are on course to top the charts on both sides of the Atlantic with their second album ‘Babel‘.
The band’s 2009 debut ‘Sigh No More‘ proved to be a huge breakthrough in the UK and US for the London group, landing numerous accolades along the way which included Grammy and Brit Award triumphs.
And now the follow-up is flying off the shelves following its release this week, particularly in the States where between 575-625,000 copies are predicted to be sold – a figure which would comfortably lead to a number one whilst also making ‘Babel’ one of the biggest sellers of 2012.
In addition, around 100,000 copies are expected to go in Britain despite a general decline in sales for the UK Album Chart during the course of this year, and again more than enough to provide a chart topper ahead of the likes of Green Day and No Doubt who also issued new records this week.
