Gumshen draws upon an eclectic palate of musical styles dishing out a healthy dose of rock, pop and funk/rap. Gumshen sounds like King Crimson and Weezer adopting Elton John, renaming him Prince, and celebrating with a sunbeam of absinthe.”

“In two short years, Mise en Scene, the boisterous Manitoba Indie Rock/Pop duo made up of guitarist/vocalist Stefanie Blondal Johnson and drummer Jodi Dunlop, have grown exponentially. First, a critically applauded EP, and now to their highly anticipated debut album Desire’s Despair set to be released on November 13, 2012 through Winnipeg imprint Pipe & Hat.”

Arbeia are a four piece from South Shields and take their name from the towns famous Roman Fort. Having met at South Tyneside College they are currently putting the finishing touches to their self recorded debut release. Despite only forming in early 2011 the band are no strangers to the North East music scene having previously played in outfits with members of other current NE bands. On December 1st 2011 they played their first headline show at Newcastle’s Cluny 2 and over the following six months have gone from strength to strength.”

Dexters will release their debut single ‘Recover’ on 19th November on This Feeling Records and will tour across the UK this September and October. Dexters are Tom Rowlett (vocals), Chris Heggie (guitars, BV’s), Ben Debo (lead guitar, BV’s), Vincent Dignan (bass, BV’s) and Chris Mardon (drums). The band formed in 2011 after growing up together on estates in the rougher part of East London. Their sound merges their wide range of influences from the melodies of The LA’s to the sheer punk, visceral aggression of The Clash and The Specials and the narrative packed lyrics of The Kinks.”

“‘Falling’ is the debut EP from indie quartet The Dusk. Produced by Simon Jones, better known for his role in seminal north-west bands The Verve and Black Submarine, “Falling” is released on Crying Boy Records on 3 December 2012. This collection of strong, melodic indie-rock anthems, with an electro twist, offers a first taste of The Dusk’s debut album currently in production, due out 2013. The Dusk aren’t the new musical revolution. They’re not the voice of angst-ridden youth. And they don’t aspire to ring in a new political order. They’re just four people who make sounds. Great sounds.”

“Born from a drunken pub conversation in an east London boozer late 2009, Dead Social Club are a six piece alt-indie band consisting of Steve (keys) Paul (vocals) Joel (guitar) Rich (guitar) and the unholy alliance of rhythm section Nic Gilham (bass) and Nick Gillam (drums). It was obvious from the beginning that while Rich wanted to be Metallica and The Cure, Steve wanted to be Depeche mode, Nic wanted to be Joy Division and Paul, any of the above (apart from Metallica and Depeche Mode), which resulted in cheery song titles and singles like: ‘Let Love Die’ and ‘This Painting is Cursed’.”

“Formed in 2010 by members Andy Salter and James Donnelly. Joined by Lukasz Chwala, Andy Nugent and Marc Arnam. Bring you their debut album ‘King Of The Infidels’. Esaius include a wide range of influences across the musical spectrum in their music which helps the album sound so unique. The track included (D.Y.K.) taken from the the bands self recorded album was a late comer to the album and included only weeks before the final release.”

“Would You Stay is the full-length debut from Los Angeles based auteur Steph Thompson, recording as Steffaloo. The thirteen-track album is a meditation on beauty and loss that uses the tape-hiss ambience and reverb drenched vocals of a classic bedroom recording to capture isolation and heartache in simple, yet near-perfect songs. The title track sets the mood of the album, as Steffaloo strums an acoustic guitar with a style that hints as bossa nova while she lists the things that she can’t bring herself to do to save her relationship.”

The PJP Band have had an enviable whirlwind year. On releasing their debut ‘American Lover’ EP in early 2011 they found themselves immediately invited to play that summer’s Glastonbury on the coveted BBC Introducing Stage. A performance heralded by 6 Music’s Tom Robinson as: ‘Astonishing for a 3 piece keyboard driven outfit, real grit and power, more power than most guitar bands’.”

Young Believers are a folk/beat band from York. They’ve built up a large group of loyal fans and we are currently getting radio play on Tom Robinson’s show on BBC 6 music. The band have been the main support act for Willy Mason, Slow Club & Mystery Jets to name a few.”

Great Pagans are the third act to release on Anti-Ghost Moon Ray Records, the Brighton DIY Label/Collective that put out Gazelle Twin’s critically acclaimed debut ‘The Entire City’ and Bernholz’s leftfield take on Madonna’s Material Girl’. It’s a label with a very carefully selected, small but perfectly formed roster. Great Pagans are the label’s band proper. Their sound is dripping with driven guitar riffs and quick-witted indie-pop refrains played out in a hazy soundscape of fuzzy feedback and psychedelia. A sound straddling the shoe-gaze sonic atmospherics of the likes of My Bloody Valentine and the alternative noise-rock whirlwind heat of Sonic Youth, with a glistening shimmer of the suave, sophisticated pop-sensibilities of Bowie.”

“One of the UK’s most original and entertaining acts Kings Of The City return with their brand new video for The Devil. For this track they mix their now familiar blend of Blues and Hip Hop with a harder edge inspired by bands like Black Sabbath and Rage Against The Machine. The stunning video, by the same company behind KOTC’s previous cult hit Make Me Worse, features Hollywood starlet Hazel D’Jan and is sure to captivate. The Devil is taken from Kings Of The City’s No Guts EP.”
