Alt-J have announced more UK dates for spring 2013 as demand grows for the band following the release of ‘An Awesome Wave‘ back in May.
With headline dates in Britain already confirmed for October, as well as a spot supporting Two Door Cinema Club coming in November, the Cambridge quartet have now unveiled a new run of shows which will begin on May 5th at the Birmingham O2 Academy. Cities such as Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool will also be visited before a final gig at the Brixton Academy in London on October 16th.
‘An Awesome Wave’ remains one of the favourites to land a Mercury Music Prize nomination when – in a change from past years – the shortlist is revealed this month. The likes of Django Django and The Maccabees are also hotly tipped for a nod ahead of the prize-giving ceremony in November.
