We Are Augustines will release the double A-side single ‘Book Of James/Philadelphia‘ next month ahead of a September-October UK tour.
The emotionally charged, soaring qualities of ‘Book Of James’ make it a true stand-out of the New York trio’s equally sensational ‘Rise Ye Sunken Ships‘ album, and will be released as a single along with ‘Philadelphia’ on September 3rd.
“I’m not sure what my fascination with not becoming a casualty of your surroundings is about but it’s, again, a character pleading with great urgency that they can’t succumb to shutting down and accepting this as a life,” singer Billy McCarthy has said of the latter track.
“There is indeed a world out there, and that once you truly realize it, the window of time is very short to get out.”
Augustines’ UK tour will open up on September 30th at the Bristol Thekla, while the band are also booked to appear at the Reading/Leeds twin festivals later this month.
