Villagers will return on October 22nd with the new single ‘The Waves‘, which was premiered on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show last night (August 29th). The official video has also been released, and can be viewed below.
“I was looking up at the sky on a particularly clear night and it struck me that I had never written a song about those little moments when you feel a fundamental and awesome sense of wonder and a simultaneously humbling recognition of absolute insignificance,” band leader Conor O’Brien has said.
Villagers will tour the UK and Europe later this year along side Grizzly Bear, beginning on October 17th at The Sage in Gateshead. The British leg will end at the Brixton Academy on the 22nd, after which the European trek will kick off in Oslo on October 26th.
