The xx and Richard Hawley will take part in two special concerts with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra later this year.
The free shows will take place at as-yet-unconfirmed venues in the north of England, with The xx being rubber-stamped for Bridlington on September 19th. Gigs will also be held at Media City – the BBC’s new home in Salford.
According to reports, The xx will air brand new material written by composer Alex Baranowski along side tracks taken from their two studio albums. Information on how to get free tickets for the BBC shows can be found at this link.
Meanwhile, Richard Hawley has also announced the release of a new single in October. ‘Seek It‘, backed with ‘Big Sister‘, is taken from Hawley’s excellent 2012 ‘Standing At The Sky’s Edge‘ album, and is the latest edition of the Sheffield songwriter’s ‘Singles Club’ series of releases. It will be available from October 1st via his own store.
