Carl Barat made his live bow with London based four-piece Eyes On Film last night.

Barat was confirmed to be joining Eyes On Film ‘for the foreseeable future’ late last month, and played the gig as part of the Bad Sex club night yesterday (August 16th) at London’s Proud Galleries venue.

“If I say I’m doing it for the love, will I sound like a member of Bon Jovi? It’s because I met a band I really believed in,” Barat told NME after the show when discussing the hook-up. “I’ve always been into the concept of community in bands, like The Yardbirds, etc.”

“I met a band who do something very different to what I do, and thought it’d be good to step in. There was obviously a little bit of extra pressure, but it’s the feeling of being in a band again.”

Hopes of a further reunion for The Libertines following their 2010 summer comeback shows were raised recently when plans for Barat and Pete Doherty to visit Thailand ‘to do some writing’ came to light.
