The BeatlesMagical Mystery Tour film will be reissued later this year and is also to be shown in British cinemas from September 27th before a special screening at the London’s BFI Southbank on October 2nd.

The movie was originally released in 1967 with The Beatles at the height of their psychedelic ‘Sgt. Peppers‘-era flower power influence.

However, after being shown on UK television in black and white just before Christmas that year, it was met with some unusually harsh criticism and soon fell out of print. In contrast, the accompanying double EP and LP versions of the soundtrack were another commercial hit for the legendary band.

A completely restored version of the film will now be released on October 9th along with a remixed soundtrack and special features which include deleted scenes and interviews with the cast and crew.  In addition, an expanded deluxe boxset edition will come complete with a 60-page book and 7″ vinyl EP.
