The surviving members of The Monkees will head out on a tour of the United States later this year – their first live dates together since the sad passing of singer Davy Jones earlier this year; Jones will be honoured ‘in the show’s multimedia content’ during the tour according to a statement.

The 12-date trek marks the first time Michael Nesmith, Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork have all played together since a clutch of UK shows back in 1997, and will begin at Escondido’s California Center for the Arts on November 8th.

“This seems like a good time to do this – the right time,” Nesmith has said of the tour. “Who knows when we will get another chance?”
