Soundgarden reveal comeback album title, preview new song

soundgarden1Reunited US heavyweights Soundgarden have revealed their new album will carry the title ‘King Animal‘.

The band have also released a short preview of the track ‘Worse Dreams‘, which can be heard via YouTube below.

Last week, Soundgarden’s guitarist Kim Thayil confirmed the group’s first album since 1996′s ‘Down on the Upside‘ will be released in November, and said it “…re-establishes that we still rock, we’re still heavy, and we’re still a little weird.”

A full studio record had been considered a possibility ever since frontman Chris Cornell officially announced the band’s return in January 2010, and follows the release of new material earlier this year when the track ‘Live To Rise’ was included as part of the soundtrack for the 2012 Avengers movie.

Last month, the Seattle group headlined the Hard Rock Calling festival in London’s Hyde Park, an event which hit the headlines after fellow bill-topper Bruce Springsteen had his set cut short by organisers shortly before the end of another mammoth performance.
