Reading/Leeds has two headliners already booked for next year

readingleeds2The Reading/Leeds festival already has two headline acts signed up for next year, according to the event’s organiser Melvin Benn, but they will not include The Stone Roses.

Speaking to NME, Benn said with two of the three headliners already delivered for 2013, he is also very confident a third bill-topper will be confirmed in due course.

“We’ve got two out of the three headliners already secured,” he has said. “The third – we know exactly who we want. We haven’t made the approach yet, my feeling is they want to do it.”

Despite not revealing the identities of his headliners, Benn was however able to rule out The Stone Roses for next year, explaining: “My feeling is probably that they are not on our list.”

Last weekend’s Reading/Leeds twin festivals were headlined by The Cure, Kasabian and the Foo Fighters, with the latter treating Reading to a special gig on the final night for what frontman Dave Grohl described as their final show for ‘a long time‘.
