Kasabian have joined the back of a long queue of acts hoping to collaborate with Jack White at some stage in the future.

Quoted in today’s Daily Star tabloid, chief songwriter and guitarist Serge Pizzorno has apparently made the admission, describing the former White Stripes man as someone he respects greatly.

“We like to do our own thing most of the time but there’s one person I can see me working with and that’s Jack White,” Pizzorno has said. “I respect Jack, and in some way shape or form we’d love to kick around in the studio with him.”

Later, Pizzorno also spoke of his delight at Kasabian’s growing popularity in America following extensive US touring since the release of ‘Velociraptor!‘ last year.

“We hit a new level this year in America, something I didn’t think existed,” he continued. “It feels like it’s time for Americans to dig British rock again.”

Kasabian headlined the Reading/Leeds twin festivals last weekend, an accolade which the Leicester band described as ‘the biggest honour of their career‘.
